The Gulu Rinpoche Retreat was very successful held by Yeshikhorlo Tibetan Buddhist Association.
The success of our retreat is due to the combination of many factors.
Firstly, we have a great instructor Khenpo Tsering Tashi to teach everyone about this special Gulu Rinpoche Retreat. Khenpo thoroughly explained and demonstrated the Dharma practice for the students including the beginners . Everyone learnt to follow all the steps about this retreat, for example prostration, different types of meditation and fasting which was performed methodically to purify and strengthen mind and body etc.
Secondly, the delicious and nutritious vegan meals played an important role in the healing process during meditation. We are very fortunate to have Kathryn and Virginia Lo to cook for the participants. Kathryn has carefully chosen energy boosting food to not only nourish students’ body but also their mind.
Thirdly, we put a lot of effort into making people feel very welcome and happy to start their retreat journey. Staff and volunteers spend a lot of time to find a peaceful, cleaning accommodation, set up a meditation hall , pathways for walking meditation, and other facilities.
Finally, Khenpo gave everyone a big surprise, he taught everyone how to make a TORMA. Everyone had a chance to make their own one and use it in the Gulu Rinpoche offering in the last day.
