LISTENING, CONTEMPLATING, MEDITATING

" At this time when the difficult to gain ship of leisure and fortune has been obtained, ceaselessly hearing, pondering and meditating day and night in order to liberate oneself and others from the ocean of cyclic existence is the Bodhisattva’s practice."

ABOUT KHENPO TSERING TASHI

Khenpo Tsering Tashi was born in Sershul Tibet in 1976. He took the vow of an ordained monk at age 16 from Khenpo Trig Gyaltsen in Arid Monastery in Tibet. At the age of 19, he studied the philosophy of Sutra and Tantra under the guidance of Great Khenpo, Khenchen Choying Chabdhel Rinpoche for three years. He also received the complete transmission of the Seven treasuries of Longchenpa from Khenpo Sherab, a heart disciple of Khenchen Choying Chabdhel Rinpoche. Due to his profound experience and knowledge in Buddhist philosophy, he was conferred the title of “Khenpo” by Khenchen Pema Tsewang.

Khenpo Tsering Tashi was imprisoned in 2003 for two years after Chinese officials claimed a book he wrote titled “The Future of Tibet” was against the Chinese policy. After he was released in 2006, Khenpo left Tibet for India and went to receive an audience with His Holiness The Dalai Lama. He was later appointed by the office of His Holiness The Dalai Lama to study Chinese language in Taiwan.

Khenpo has also published many books and translated several renowned classical literatures including 6th Patriarch Zen Master Hui Neng’s “Platform Sutra” and Dao Te Ching from Chinese into Tibetan.

Saga Dawa Festival & Buddha’s Birthday Celebration

MADYAMAKA COURSE

Yeshikhorlo has competed the teachings of "Catuhśataka" by Arya Deva and is in the process of teaching Mādhyamakavatara by Chandrakriti. Mādhyamaka, also known as "the emptiness doctrine" refers to a tradition of Buddhist philosophy and practice is founded by Indian Buddhist monk and philosopher Nagarjuna (c. 150 – c. 250 CE). The foundational text of the Mādhyamaka tradition is Nagarjuna’s Mulamadhyamakakarika which means "Root Verses on the Middle Way”. Mādhyamaka refers to the ultimate nature of phenomena as well as the non-conceptual realization of ultimate reality. The five great reasonings of Madhyamaka elicits the realization of the true nature—Emptiness— as meditation. The roots of this extremism are grasping and clinging, the true hindrances to our realization of emptiness. So the great Madhyamaka masters used the five great reasonings to break down our grasping tendencies and usher us into the absolute nature of emptiness. Grasping and clinging are obstacles to our realization of the true nature because they do not accord with the way things are, with the natural state. They are hindrances because they take us away from the nature. The five Madhyamaka reasonings will smash down and remove our grasping and conceptual fabrications, illuminating the true nature of both subject and object.

  • All courses are currently on going, welcome to enroll any course that you are interested in.
  • The Bodhicaryavatara course Term 2 will start on 28/09/2022, welcome to enroll.
